Graduated from the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Medicine in 1962, and appointed assistant in the First Internal Medicine Department of that faculty in 1968. Appointed fellow in biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1969, assistant professor of internal medicine at the UCLA Department of Medicine in 1973, associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Southern California Department of Medicine in 1974, associate professor of internal medicine at the UCLA Department of Medicine in 1977, and professor there in 1979. Appointed assistant professor in the 4th Internal Medicine Department of the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine in 1983, professor in the First Internal Medicine Department of the same university and faculty in 1988, and professor and Dean of the Tokai University School of Medicine and Director of the Institute of Medical Sciences of Tokai University in 1996. Served as the President of the Science Council of Japan from 2003 to 2006, then Science Advisor to the Cabinet; Science, Technology and Innovation from 2006 to 2008. Currently the Chairman of Health Policy Institute, Japan and professor of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.
Professor Takeuchi received his B.A. from International Christian University in Tokyo and M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California,Berkeley.
He was an Assistant Professor at the Harvard Business School from 1976 to 1983,where he taught courses in marketing and retailing in the MBA program. He joined Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo as an Associate Professor in 1983 and became Professor in 1987. He returned to the Harvard Business School as a Visiting Professor in 1989 and 1990,where he taught "Competition and Strategy."
Professor Takeuchi's current research interests are focused on (a) the role of marketing within a firm's global strategy,(b) the unique features of the Japanese new product development process,(c) the competitiveness of Japanese firms in global industries,and (d) the knowledge creation process within organizations.

In addition,he has written over 30 articles for the Harvard Business Review,California Management Journal,Journal of Retailing,Japan Marketing Journal,Business Review, and other academic journals,and nearly 70 articles for business magazines.
His business experience includes management consulting work with McKinsey & Company in Tokyo and marketing research and account service work with McCann-Erikson in Tokyo and San Francisco. He is consultant to a number of multinationals and has been a frequent speaker at management conferences and seminars around the world.
He is a member of a number of committees formed by government agencies,the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in particular,and political organizations in Japan. In addition,he is a member of the planning board of the World Economic Forum.
Since joining BCG, Reiko has worked extensively with companies in manufacturing, high tech and infrastructure areas. Her experience includes growth strategy development, strategy implementation, change management, and post-merger integration. She has also served on a variety of government committees. Before joining BCG, Reiko worked for the Industrial Revitalization Corporation of Japan (IRCJ) as a Managing Director. Before joining the IRCJ, she worked for McKinsey & Company, and Kirin Brewery. Fujiyo Ishiguro is the President & CEO of Netyear Group Corporation,a well-known Marketing company focused on Internet Services. Netyear had more than 150 active clients in 2008. 90% of their clients are TSE-listed companies,Fortune 500 equivalent,including KDDI,Tokyo Marine Nichido,Mitsui Real Estate,and NEC. KEN KUSUNOKI is Associate Professor at Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University. He was educated at the Graduate School of Commerce, Hitotsubashi University. He was Assistant Professor from 1992 to 1996, and was Associate Professor from 1996 to 2000 at Faculty of Commerce, Hitotsubashi University. Takeshi Natsuno,Professor of Keio University was formerly Senior Vice President of NTT DoCoMo. He developed the business strategy of all of NTT DoCoMo's multimedia-related services,including i-mode strategic alliances with global application/content providers and key Internet players.
Mr. Natsuno,one of the key developers of i-mode business models,managed the Japan launch of i-mode in 1999. i-mode is the world's most popular mobile e-mail/Internet service. Already achieving tremendous success,it has attracted some 48 million subscribers to date,while taking a pioneering role the world's non-voice communications market. Mr. Natsuno also led the development of additional services,such as mobile games,credit-card settlement and other e-wallet functions.
Widely regarded as a leading expert on the Internet and multimedia,he was named one of the world's 25 most influential e-business leaders by Business Week in 2001.
Mr. Natsuno started his career with Tokyo Gas,one of Japan's largest utilities. He later held key executive positions with HyperNet,a leading Internet venture company. He joined NTT DoCoMo in 1997,and in 2008 began a new career as a professor of Keio University.

Sea-Jin Chang is a Provost's Chair Professor of Business Administration, National University of Singapore. Prior to his move to Singapore, he was a Kumho Asiana Group Endowed Chair Professor of Business Administration at Korea University. He received his BA and MA in economics from Seoul National University, and Ph.D. in strategic management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Dean's Fellow. He used to be a professor at the Stern School of Business of the New York University. He also had visiting appointments at Stanford Business School, INSEAD, London Business School, Hitotsubashi University and Wharton School. He used to work for large telecommunication companies in Korea and Japan. Professor Chang is primarily interested in the management of diversified multinational firms. His current research focuses on understanding the process of creating operating synergies among diversified lines of business and building a strong local organization after foreign entry. His other research interests include organizational learning, corporate growth through joint ventures and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, and comparative management studies of Japan, Korea, and China. His research has been published in journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, and Journal of Industrial Economics. He is an Editor of Journal of International Business Studies, a premier academic journal in international business and sits on the editorial boards of several other leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal. His recent book, Sony vs. Samsung: The Inside Story of the Electronics' Giants Battle for Global Supremacy (Wiley, 2008) compares and contrasts these two firms' global strategy. His other book, The Rise and Fall of Chaebols: Financial Crisis and Transformation of Korean Business Groups (Cambridge University Press, April 2003) explores the strategies Korean business groups have pursued, examines various aspects of their structures, and assesses their performance. His edited volume, Business Groups in East Asia: Crisis, Restructuring and New Growth (Oxford University Press, 2006), examine the post-crisis restructuring activities of large business groups in eight East Asian countries. A native Korean, Professor Chang, is married to Kyungmee, a composer of modern classical music, and they have two daughters, Melody and Harmony.
Dong-Sung Cho is Professor of Strategy,International Business and Management Design at Seoul National University. He received a doctoral degree from Harvard Business School in 1976,and worked at Gulf Oil's Planning Group before joining SNU in 1978. He was a visiting professor at HBS,INSEAD,Helsinki School of Economics,the University of Tokyo,Hitotsubashi University,University of Michigan,Duke,Peking,Zhejiang and Nankai University. Among the 42 books he published are The General Trading Company by Lexington Books (1986),Tiger Technology: the Rise of the Semiconductor Industry in Asia by Cambridge University Press (1999),and From Adam Smith to Michael Porter: Evolution of Competitiveness Theory by World Scientific (2000).

Weiying Zhang is Dean of the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, and Director of Peking University's e-Business Center. He received a bachelor degree in 1982 from Northwestern University at Xi'an and D. Phil. in economics in 1994 from Oxford University. Between 1984 and 1990, he was a research fellow of the Economic System Reform Institute of China, and heavily involved in economic reform policy making in China. He was the first Chinese economist who proposed the "dual-track price system reform" (in 1984). After he graduated from Oxford, he co-founded China Center for Economic Research (CCER), Peking University in 1994, and worked with the Center until August, 1997. From 1999 to August 2006, He was the executive associate dean of Guanghua School of Management. He was also the chief architect of the 2003 Peking University faculty system reform. His visionary reform has generated significant impacts on changes of business education in China. As a professor of economist, he has published dozens of academic articles and 10 books. His works have generated significant impacts on the ongoing enterprise reform policy formulation and the development of economics in China. He has been frequently invited to deliver keynote speeches at high-level international and domestic symposiums and forums. His insightful opinions of the Chinese economy have been frequently reported in media. He was awarded "The Man of the Year in Chinese Economy" by CCTV in 2002. He has been the chief economist for China Entrepreneurs Forum since 2001.
